I can not put in to words to ease the loss when such a man as Mr. Solomon Cantu passes. The best thing I can do, is to help those who were closest to him and his family know that my life has been impacted in a positive way by his life.
I've always had the utmost respect for Mr. Cantu, starting as a child, to now. I remember him in the 70's growing up, seeing him occasionally in the 80's and 90's as a teenager and young adult, right up to last year as his walking route always went past my house.
Mr. Cantu helped me after my last combat tour in 2008, and I always made sure I would say hello to him if I saw him walking by. I remember my last conversation with Mr. Cantu as he was telling me how far he USE to walk, and at the time (early 2020) that he usually just goes to 64th street now. I praised him for still making those walks, staying motivated to keep moving, and not giving up. I asked him to tell his boys I said hello for me, as many great memories during wrestling occurred in our younger days.
There should be no question, as to how Mr. Cantu's character, integrity, and family values touched so many, and why not only the Cantu family, but the community and the world is deeply saddened at his passing.
I sincerely and compassionately want to express my condolences to the Cantu family as well as all who feel the loss because of his passing. We are all better people for having him i our lives- and we can cherish his life just by caring for one another. May we all find comfort and peace, and never stop loving!
