Sadako Nakajima Lang's Obituary
Sadako Nakajima Lang went peacefully to sleep in Jesus on May 21, 2023. She was our dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin. Her family and close friends will greatly miss her.
She was born to the late Muneharu and Toyo Nakajima on October 14, 1928, in Otsuki-shi, Yaminashi-ken, Japan. She was one of 10 siblings and is preceded by brothers Gisei Nakajima (a Japanese soldier who died in 1945), Mitsuru Nakajima (who passed away at age two), Akio Nakajima, and Munefusa Nakajima; sisters Isao Suzuki, Kazue Takamura, Yuriko Nakajima; and daughter Stephanie Toyo Lang.
She is survived by her sisters Sumiko Nakajima and Masako Fujimoto; son Ed Lang; daughters Sally Battle, and daughter Calina Tejeda; Grandchildren LaKeisha, LaTricia, LaNeisha, LaBrina, Alexis, Olivia, Calyssa, and Caleb; 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of additional family, her “second family” at Columbia Place, and friends.
She was deeply dedicated to her faith and the Seventh-day Adventist church. She was a long-time member and volunteer at Mt. Tahoma Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Seward Park Seventh-day Adventist Church.
A funeral service will be held at Mt. View Funeral Home at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. Lakewood, WA 98499 on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 1:30 pm. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at her home church Seward Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 5200 S. Orcas St., Seattle, WA 98445, on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please share a special memory of Sadako on her obituary page.
