Ryan Charles Ruckman's Obituary
Ryan, 29, of Seattle, WA was tragically and unexpectedly lost in a motorcycle accident on December 6th, 2024.
Ryan was born in Puyallup in 1995 to parents Michele (Crandall) Nelsen and Ryan Ruckman. He graduated from Curtis High School, then attended Seattle Pacific University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, graduating in 2017. It was at SPU where Ryan met his wife, Jenn, and they married in 2018. Ryan spent most of his career in social services, most recently working as a Mental Heath Case Manager at Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC). He dedicated his life to helping and serving others.
Ryan was preceded in death by his mom, Michele; his grandfather, Michael Crandall; and grandmother, Mary Lou Ruckman.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Jennifer Burkland; his father, Ryan Ruckman; his brothers, Riley Ruckman and Caleb and Cameron Nelsen; his grandma, Caroline Crandall; and grandpa, Franklin Ruckman; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his baby (dog), Hazel.
A celebration of life will be held for Ryan on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 from 2 - 4 p.m. at The Environmental Services Building, University Place, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to DESC.
