Ruth Powers
Beloved Ruth Powers, 93 years of age, died peacefully January 25, 2017. She was born in Tacoma, Washington and resided in the Tacoma area her whole life. Ruth was a talented bookkeeper who worked at Blake, Moffitt & Towne Paper Company before marrying and performing similar work for the family business, Fred’s Arco in Lakewood. Ruth was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a pillar of faith for her family, her church family, and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Fred and brother, Roger Dinger. Survivors include her son Craig Powers (wife, Gail); daughter, Carol Powers (husband, Craig Murray); grandsons, Matt and Christian Powers and Jason and Christopher Murray and great granddaughter, Alice Bea Powers; and sister, Edith Jones.
Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4 at Calvary Baptist Church. Memorials to Calvary Baptist Church or the Tacoma Rescue Mission.
