Ruth McGill's Obituary
Ruth Faye (Hannah) McGill
Ruth McGill joined her beloved husband on the same day and time that he departed this earth on July 15th, forty years ago. Ruth was 87 years old and was born in Paris, Texas on December 23rd, 1923. She died from Cancer.
Ruth was married to Vernon D. McGill, who passed away from cancer on July 15th, 1971. She is survived by her two daughters, Michele McGill and Deborah Gibbons; son-in-law, Duane Gibbons and a loving family of nieces and nephews; plus, a large array of adopted friends and family. Ruth lived in Mexico for a year in the 40's where she lost her first child, Suzanne. She traveled and lived 3 years in Japan in the -˜50's with her husband, who retired from the military service in 1965 and moved from Georgia to Washington State.
Ruth grew up on a dairy with her family in Denison, Texas. Later in life, she worked in retail as a manager of several dress shops in Georgia and manager of toy stores in Washington State. Her real love was being a -Å"relief- innkeeper for bed & breakfasts in Washington State for 25 years. She had seven bed and breakfast inns that she managed in the Seattle area.
During the course of her life, she traveled to France, Germany and England. For the last 8 years, Ruth lived in Tacoma, WA with one of her daughters. She was an avid reader and loved the Harry Potter series. Ironically, she passed away on the premiere day of the last Harry Potter episode.
Ms. Ruth was the quintessential mother to all who came in contact with her. She had sage wisdom and a caring and loving heart. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
