Ruth Marion Krepky's Obituary
Ruth Marion Slater Krepky, born in Gladmar, Saskatchewan the second of ten children to Edna and Heskin Slater, was fiercely proud of her Canadian heritage. She died peacefully in Olympia, WA.Ruth immigrated to Washington State as a young woman. Drawn together through their mutual delight in dancing she met Morris Krepky in Tacoma. They married in 1940. Over her long life of 92 years she enjoyed golf, bowling, cats, bridge, needlework and especially the art of cooking in which she was phenomenally skillful and creative. Her exquisite and delicious presentations were savored and fondly remembered by many people especially her family. She relished being a Â"numbersÂ" person and was a meticulous bookkeeper for employment, her community and her household.Ruth was preceded in death last May by her husband Morris of 64 years. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Frost, sons Charles Weidner and David Krepky, grandsons Ken and David Sweeney, five great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives. The family thanks Al and Thelma Suaviso and their staff of Sound Care Adult Family Home in Lacey, WA where Ruth resided for the last 3-1/2 years for their consistently professional and kind nursing of the highest caliber. There will be no service. The family will place her ashes on Anderson Island, WA where her hazel eyes contentedly gazed for years out her living room windows at the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains, birds, boats, seals, sunsets and perennial beauty of the Northwest which gave her great pleasure. RuthÂ's favorite flowers were violets and dogwood. Not a religious woman she viewed the natural world in all its glory as her spiritual philosophy.
