Ruth King's Obituary
Ruth King, 87, left this earth peacefully on October 13, 2015. Born in Tacoma, WA, on April 23, 1928 to Samuel and Greta McCall, she was the youngest of five children. Ruth graduated from Stadium High School in 1948, spent two years in Santa Barbara, CA at Westmont College, and then finished her education in 1951 at the School of Nursing at Tacoma General Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, Ruth worked at Tacoma General Hospital in the Neonatal Unit. She also participated in the Tacoma Ladies Musical Club for many years.
Ruth met William Edward King while he was stationed at Fort Lewis Army Base. They married January 6, 1951 and lived in Tacoma most of their 54 years of marriage. Ruth was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1970 where she sang in the choir, and helped with children’s ministries. She spent the last five years at Royal Park Care Center in Spokane, WA, where she was lovingly cared for.
Proceeding Ruth in death are her husband William King – 2005, daughter Janeen Insko – 2008, son-in-law Rick Insko – 2011, and son David King – 2014.
Ruth is loved and will be missed by her family: Sharon (Tiel) Hicks of Spokane, WA. Brian (Terri) King, David's fiancée Paula Levtzow; Grandchildren – Todd (Christine) King, Nicole (Jeremy) Horton, Sandra Insko, Jennifer (Mark Kraft) King, Reid Hicks, Jessica Insko, and Trevor Hicks; Great-grandchildren – Lily King, Natalie Kraft, Emily Horton, Brielle Kraft and Richard Lee (Jessica) Berthiaume.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, 2:00 PM at the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
