Ruth C. Everett's Obituary
Ruth Christine Paulson-Stanger Everett
Born November 20, 1918 near Mullen, Nebraska. Died September 9, 2016 in Tacoma, Washington. At the age of 97.8 years old. She was the 5th of 6th children, all of whom are deceased now; Tillie, Morton, Arthur, Alma and Dorothy. The family moved to Graham, WA when Ruth was 15 months old. She left home at 15 years old doing live in family care till she was able to attend Beauty School in Tacoma.
She was married to Walter Stanger in 1939. They had 2 children; Nolan Stanger and Carole Martin, whom have survived her along with 6 grandchildren; Tara Stover, Kelli Hallman, Brice Stanger, Dale, Glenn and Rychelle Martin and predeceased by Stacy Lynn Stanger; 7 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Walter and Ruth owned a chicken farm and feed store, then owned Walt’s Drive-in Restaurant along with a laundry mat and dry cleaners at Summit View on 112th and Canyon Road. After a divorce she worked at a restaurant in Tacoma, sold cosmetics and eventually settled in Anchorage, Alaska. There she worked at a gift shop featuring special glassware, figurines and jewelry. She loved that job and all the pretties. She was an avid rock hound and enjoyed working in any garden.
She loved dancing and met Ralph Everett at a dance and later married him in 1966, adding 6 more children to her family; Ron, Roy and Carl Everett, Carol Brodie, Robin Baird, Raphael Cenabre; Plus 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren. As of now totaling 9 children; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.
Eventually residing in Tacoma, WA, Ruth was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November 1975, serving Jehovah faithfully until her death.
She passed away now waiting for her resurrection in a beautiful paradise on earth.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice for all their help and care over the years and to all our dear family and friends.
A committal graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016. At Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
