I remember visiting Pete and Ruth for holidays or if I needed to talk, I always felt welcomed and loved. I always enjoyed getting a Christmas or Thanksgiving card and a letter from her. After moving away I would call on occasion to chat and catch up. I will miss her ❤️
I met Ruth the first time I attended a service at St. Joseph-St. John Episcopal Church almost 40 years ago. We discovered that we had a lot in common: we were both raised not far from New York City, had ancestors from upstate New York, and husbands who were avid gardeners. Ruth and Pete, and Bill end I enjoyed many dinners and visits over the years. In the past few years, Ruth and I have often gone for lunch or dinner together. One other thing we had in common was that we were both night owls. Over the years we logged thousands of hours chatting on the phone after 10 p.m.! I will miss our visits and phone calls -- in fact, I already do. Ruth was a wonderful lady and a great friend. Maureen Smallwood
Ruth was my roofmate at Chambers Garden Condominiums in Lakewood. A wonderful neighbor and a dear friend. I always enjoyed our conversations on her driveway and talking about golf and her family. I will miss Ruth very much along with our visits. RIP Ruth. Larry Olson, neighbor
Reading Ruth's beautiful obituary, I was reminded of so many memories. Some are from her years living on Park Row so long ago right down to the names of family members who visited there, others were from things my mother shared in the years after she married Pete and moved onto PAFB, and some were from things she wrote about in her yearly Christmas letter. I always loved her Christmas letter. Ruth was truly a beautiful woman and I am sure you will all miss her terribly.
We are so sad to lose our sweet sister-in-law, Ruth. We are so grateful for the close bond she had with Gran. We are so touched by the “warm place in her heart for the Dewey family”. We love you all and send you hugs during this difficult time. Rick and Suze and family
