Ruth B. NordstromRuth Nordstrom, born February 28, 1921 in Astoria, OR, passed away, February 11, 2004, in Lakewood, WA.She will be remembered for her love for adventure. She was one of the first women enlisted in the military, achieving the rank of Corporal, as a WAC, serving in England during WWII. After the war she worked 33 years civil service for the Army Engineers in Seattle, and remained active in many Veteran Service Organizations up until the time of her death, serving thousands of hours volunteering. She was preceded in death by her husband Kurt Nordstrom, and sisters Jean Howat, and Shirley Yeilding.Ruth is survived by her brother Paul W. Morgan, brother-in-law CPT (USN ret) Charles W. Yeilding, and numerous nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be 1:30pm Monday March 1, 2004 at Tahoma National Cemetery.
