Russell William Donahue's Obituary
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Russell Donahue passed away surrounded by love and family. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Timothy Donahue. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Carol Donahue, and his loving stepchildren: Donald Broadhead, Kimberly Brasili, and Terri Shideler.
Russell lived in Minneapolis until the age of five, when his family relocated to the Tacoma, Washington area. He graduated from Lincoln High School and later returned to school to earn his bachelor’s degree online—demonstrating his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.
He dedicated many years to a career in law enforcement, serving in various roles until health challenges led to his retirement.
Russell was a passionate collector with a deep appreciation for history and technology. He enjoyed collecting model trains, vintage lights, coins, and antique radios. A dedicated ham radio operator, he cherished the connections he made across the airwaves.
A lifetime member of the Elks Club, Russell valued community and service, living those values throughout his life.
He will be remembered for his kindness, curiosity, and the deep love he held for his family. He will be missed more than words can express.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 26, at Mountain View Cemetery, with a viewing and reception from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Russell are welcome to attend and share in remembering his life.
