Rush B. ElledgeAugust 25, 1936 Â- June 3, 2006Cherished husband, father and grandfather was born Aug. 25, 1936 in Millers Creek, NC and passed away June 3, 2006 at Allenmore Hospital, Tacoma, WA from complications of ALS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wintfred and Maribel Elledge of Millers Creek, NC.Rush entered the US Air Force in Feb. 1955 and served his country honorably throughout the world and with great dedication in the Aircraft Maintenance Field until retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant at McChord AFB in Aug. 1982. He then began his second career in transportation management with Clover Park School District, retiring as Transportation Director in Sept. 2001.Throughout his life, he made many close friends and always tried to be someone that friends could rely on. He enjoyed many sports, the outdoors and walks near the water, and was an avid golfer until ALS took his strength, but not his love of the game.He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth, three children: Keith (Lisa) Elledge of Gig Harbor, September Elledge of Missouri City, TX, and Julie Elledge of Federal Way; six grandchildren: Billy, Rush, Elizabeth and Charlen Suessman of Missouri City, TX, and West and Wyatt Elledge of Gig Harbor; one sister and two brothers.Viewing will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2006 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
