Rudolph Kenneth Valor's Obituary
Rudolph Â"RudyÂ" Kenneth Valor, born in Crookston, MN on May 10, 1920, passed away October 22, 2006 at the Tacoma Lutheran Home in Tacoma, WA. Rudy grew up in Tacoma and attended Lincoln High School where he met and married Janelle Oakes in 1941. In 1939 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps where he worked as a life guard, electrician and first aid technician. Rudy was an electrician by trade and a member of IBEW, retiring from Tacoma City Light in 1987. Rudy and Janelle moved to Spanaway Lake in 1952 and in 1976 to Graham where Rudy was active on the Graham Water Board. His interests included ham radio, gardening, bowling, astronomy, theatrical skits and hunting with his brother Leonard. Rudy was a Past Master of the Masonic Evergreen Lodge and was active in Eastern Star. Rudy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Janelle; parents Rudolph and Clara Ulseth; his sisters, Evelyn Danaker, Agnes Roswell and brother Leonard. Rudy is survived by his wife Doris Hoffard of Lynwood; two daughters, Sandie and husband Jim Morrison of Belfair; Ginger Dillman of Spanaway; four grandchildren, Michael Grosvenor of Monroe, Jim Grosvenor of Graham, Tamara and husband Greg Martin of Graham and Tiffany Dillman of Spanaway; two great granddaughters, Avery and Carly Martin of Graham and nieces and nephews. Rudy was known by many for his sense of humor, his kindness, fairness and dependability and he will be missed by many.Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way, University Place, WA 98466.
