Ruby Littlejohn's Obituary
Ruby Jewel Littlejohn
1933 - 2020
Ruby Jewel Littlejohn passed away quietly on December 28, 2020. Born May 20, 1933 in Bryan, Texas, she was 87 years old. As a child, family life, church and school filled her days. As an adult, she enjoyed old gospel hymns, gardening, and reading magazines for home decorating ideas.
After high school (Kemp), Ruby Jewel pursued a career in nursing and worked in hospitals in Texas, California, and Washington. Although she found her work as a nurse gratifying, the joy of her life was her family. As the family's matriarch, nothing was more important to her than creating and maintaining a home for her husband, children and grandchildren. She made her home warm and inviting, a place where family and friends were always welcomed. She was the true center of family's life. She was a very private person, yet, she freely shared her time and resources, her knowledge of life and her heart with those closest to her.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Roosevelt Littlejohn, and her brother, James Cooper. She is survived by her children: Charles Littlejohn (Elizabeth), Marilyn Littlejohn, Beverly Chambers (Arthur Jr.), and Deborah Chambers (Michael); her grandchildren: Michelle Hilliard (Darryl), Amanda Hailey (Nicholas), Alisha Chambers, and Marcus Chambers; and her great grandchildren: Jerald Hilliard, Wesley Hilliard, Elijah Hailey, and Kyrie Hailey
She was loved and will be missed.
Her family will hold a private service at later date.
