Ruby "Elaine" Lapp's Obituary
Ruby “Elaine” Chase Lapp
Ruby “Elaine” Chase Lapp, 82, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all, died peacefully in her sleep on July, 20, 2017.
Born in Tacoma, WA to Victor S. Hall and Helen E. Hall on April 4th, 1935 - her father’s birthday, she was always the light of his life. She attended school in Tacoma, WA prior to marrying Charles W. Chase. She moved between Pampa, Texas and Tacoma Washington twice, before settling to raise her 6 children in Tacoma, before her husband passed in 1981. She found love again, and married Clarence Lapp in 1993, moving to Kalispell, MT, and living there until his passing in 2005, when she returned to her children and family in Tacoma, WA.
Elaine was an avid reader, and adored crocheting. Many, many of her loved ones have an afghan (or 3) that she lovingly made. She called her three Chihuahua’s “her girls” and took them everywhere with her. She loved the mountains, flowers of all varieties, and dining out.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, her brother Ted, her two sisters Karen and Myrna, her son Dennis, and granddaughter Danelle.
She is survived by her children, Dana (Ben), Wayne (Nancy), Gary, Tina (Mike), Terry (Margo), her brother Jack (Judy), 9 grandchildren and 13, soon to be 14 great grandchildren.
Many, many heartfelt thanks to Olympic Alzheimer's Residence for their loving, caring commitment to Elaine during her 4 month stay there.
The family asks that you spend time with your children, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones and make a toast to enduring friendships, lifelong and beyond. That’s what Elaine would want.
