Roy Summers' Obituary
Roy Â"BarneyÂ" Summers, beloved husband, father, grandfather, Â"PappaÂ", great grandfather and friend, passed away on August 15, 2004. Born in Plainview, Texas on May 8, 1917, Barney is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine; daughter Jacqueline; son Robert; grandchildren, Brandon, Jamie, Jeana, Tina, Andrea, and Tyanne; great grandchildren, Samantha and Emma. A Parkland resident since 1947, Barney and Josephine owned and operated the College, Spanaway and Centre Cleaners until their retirement in 1972. Barney was a WWII Veteran and a member of the Parkland Kiwanis Club. His gentle nature and easy manner were part of what made Barney a special person to all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 12pm, Saturday, August 21, 2004, in the Mt. View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roy B. Summers name may be given to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
