Roy Minoru Hayashida's Obituary
Roy M. Hayashida, MSG (Ret.), of Lakewood, Washington, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the age of 77. He was a devoted husband and father who is loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Roy was a decorated United States Army Veteran with 24 years of service until his retirement in 1985. After his distinguished military career, he then went on to become a valued member of the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. Roy was a talented electrician, mechanic and repairman who enjoyed fishing and the outdoors in his spare time.
Roy is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Haruko; children, Brian (Marsha) and Amy (Steven); grandchildren, Emily and James; and his sister, Jane. He was preceded in death by his parents Mitsuo and Rose, and his brother, Melvin.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, 1:00 pm at the Garden Chapel located at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW Lakewood, WA 98499.
