Roy George Ilton's Obituary
Roy George IltonRoy George Ilton passed away on December 17, 2003 at his home on Clear Lake (Eatonville). He was born on June 30, 1920 in Tacoma, the son of Hazel and Claud Ilton. He and his wife Betty lived for the last 20 years in their home built on the location of his parentsÂ' summer home. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2001. Roy graduated from Lincoln High School (1940) and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University in 1954. He was employed by General Mills and retired from the Boeing Company in 1982. Roy served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Roy is survived by his wife Betty of Clear Lake, son Terry with granddaughters Noelle and Claire Ilton of Belton, Texas, and daughter Nancy Hanks of Ravensdale. He also leaves nieces Carolyn Nelson of Tacoma; Beverly Nelson of Lakewood, Ohio; nephew Bill Nelson (Laurie), great-niece Lindsay and great-nephew Marshall of Houston, Texas; and brother-in-law Ralph Nelson of Tacoma. He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister, Dorothy Nelson. RoyÂ's greatest pleasures were enjoying his home on the lake with Betty, and spending time with his family and many friends. His gentleness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all of them. He was known throughout his life for his avid support of the WSU Cougars.
