Roy Joseph Akioka's Obituary
Roy Joseph Akioka, age 85, passed away on 1/30/2022 at Tacoma General Hospital. He was born in Honolulu, HI on 7/17/1936 to Harry and Hilda Akioka. Roy is survived by his Son Erik and daughter in-law Denise, grandchildren Ashley, Desiraye, Casey, Joshua, Trinity and Gabriel, and great grand children Zoey, Killian and coming soon Ryker. He also has 6 brothers and sisters remaining.
Roy was retired from the U.S. Army and Boeing. When he got out of the Army he was traveling for work with AT&T up and down the west coast. He was able to see family members on those road trips and made a lot of friends along the way. He decided to join Boeing, so he was home more and was able to spend more time with family, friends and able to bowl more. His passion to bowl which allowed him to travel to many different states and have even more stories. He was very active in his bowling as he would go to tournaments with his son, military friends, and his many friends in his leagues that he bowled weekly. He loved to sing and would regularly sing with groups of people at Karaoke. His passion for family allowed him to love many people far and wide and has touched so many people with his kindness to others and was always willing to help as much he could. His love for family and friends will be missed along with the stories and adventures he went on. Roy will be missed by many.
The memorial services will be held on March 3rd at Mt View Funeral Home and Cemetery at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd, Lakewood, WA 98499 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M.
