Rosemary Davis JonesSunrise: July 23, 1961Sunset: October 13, 2003Rosemary Reba Davis was born to the union of Arthur Davis, Jr. and Eva Lee Barnhill Davis in Albany, Georgia. Rosemary leaves behind her parents and three loving sisters, Joan B, Belvin (Charles), Frances L. Davis and Jacqueline A. Davis. She attended primary school in California and Washington and completed her high school education at Tacoma, WashingtonÂ's Lincoln High in 1979. Rosemary was one of the first graduates of The Tacoma Academy of Hair, becoming a licensed beautician in 1981. She was active in the community as a volunteer hair consultant, assisting mothers with children with unruly hair.Rosemary married Robert M. Jones of Tacoma, Washington, on August 19, 1979, to this union three wonderful daughters were born: LaTasha Micheal Jones, LaKenya Ann Jones and LaKeisha Sade Jones. She was the proud grandmother of the long awaited male child, Sirrone Arthur Mansel Newbern.Rosemary was always active with children, driving a school bus for high school students all of whom were usually taller than her, and working as a playground supervisor.Rosemary loved classic R&B music and could always be found watching the Â"Lifetime ChannelÂ". Her love for her family and friends was obvious to all. Rosemary was truly a Â"homebodyÂ", never far from her children, grandson, parents, and sisters. She enjoyed a loving long term relationship with Donnie Murphy, who along with her family was by her side when God called her home.Rosemary was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Tacoma, Washington. She received Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at a young age. She was a valued member of the Gill Girls Church Ministry, Youth Usher Board, and The Young Adult Choir.Although she is greatly missed by those she has left behind, we take comfort in knowing that she is safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we look forward to rejoicing with her when we too are called home.Memorial services will be held at 12 P.M., Monday, October 20, 2003 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4818 Portland Ave. E., Tacoma.
