Roselyne D. Wahlgren's Obituary
Roselyne Wahlgren
September 19, 1948 - March 25, 2023
Tacoma, Washington - Following a long, valiant battle with cancer, Roselyne Wahlgren entered the kingdom of heaven on March 25, 2023, at the age of 74. Roselyne was not afraid of dying, and for good reason. She loved Jesus with all her heart and knew that He, having washed away her sins, was awaiting her arrival in paradise. A few days before she died, after losing most of her ability to communicate, she suddenly said as clear as day, "I wish I could have stayed there forever!" After being asked what she was talking about, she said, "It was Heaven. I saw Heaven! It was such a beautiful place!" Those who loved Roselyne rejoice that her heart's desire has been fulfilled.
Roselyne was born September 19, 1948, to David and Rosina Marston in Nanaimo British Columbia. She later moved to Tacoma Washington where she met and married Fred Wahlgren Jr. in 1969. They had two children, Fred III and Jennifer.
Roselyne was loved by so many. Seldom did she meet a stranger that didn't quickly become a friend. She embodied kindness, compassion, and a generosity that was second to none. Her non-judgmental spirit and unconditional love for people positively touched the lives of everyone she met. To know her was to love her and be loved by her!
Roselyne was renowned for her gift giving and compliments, all of which came straight from her heart. If someone was having a hard day, she was there with uplifting words, a gift bag, or flowers. If she encountered someone doing anything praiseworthy, she would make sure they received the recognition they deserved. Roselyne lived to offer up encouragement to both friends and strangers always prioritizing the needs of others above her own.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Roselyne cherished her time with family. She never showed favoritism. Everyone knew they were equally loved and cherished by her. She delighted in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren whether large or small, and always made them feel special. She didn't spend her life pursuing worldly accolades. She spent it pursuing people. In so doing, she left a remarkable legacy of love. May all live by her example.
Roselyne is survived by her beloved husband Fred Jr.; her sister Shirley, and brothers Ron, Don, Gary, and Richard; her two children Fred III and Jennifer; and her five grandchildren Fred lV, Ethan, Ryan, Lauren, and Luke.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church - 102 Tacoma Avenue S. in Tacoma on Saturday, April 15th at 1:00 pm
