Rosella Lorraine Westholm's Obituary
Rosella Lorraine WesthohnRose passed away Friday, January 3, 2003, after courageously facing a long illness. Rose was one of 14 children born to Peder and Jorgene Balstad. Although a 57-year resident of Tacoma, she remained proud of her Norwegian heritage and upbringing in the farming community of Portland, N. D. Rose treasured the memories of time spent with her fun-loving siblings.Rose met and married Richard Westholm at just age 17. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage and family life for 52 years until his death in 1998. In their retirement years they enjoyed traveling and spending winters as Â"snowbirdsÂ" in Yuma, AZ.She is survived by her son Larry (Barbara) Westholm of Pensacola, FL; daughter Diane(Joseph) Brignone of Tacoma; and grandchildren Larry (Leigh) Westholm Jr., LeighWestholm, Bobby Echevarria, and Michelle Brignone; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Rose was the heart of our family and will be dearly missed. Our family wishes to express gratitude and thanks to family friend and caregiver, Rosalind Foote, and the entire staff of the St. Joseph Medical Center Renal Care Unit for their efforts and compassionate care.Memorial services Wednesday, January 8, 12:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel.
