Roselie Eileen Heller's Obituary
Beloved family matriarch, Great Grandmother, Grandmother and Mom, Roselie Eileen Heller, 88, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2014, in Lakewood, Washington, surrounded by her loving family. She has been in hospice and lovingly cared for daily by her son, Ron and his wife, Kayren, and her grand daughter Susie and her husband, Matt. She spoke as often as possible with her other children, Jack, Deb and Betty. She is already sorely missed by her family far and wide.
Roselie was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 24, 1926, into very hardworking and very humble beginnings. As World War II approached, she met and married the love of her life, Lt. John David Heller, Army Air Corps, on November 4, 1943. For the next 20+ years in the Air Force, as she dedicated her life as a mom, homemaker, and as an officer's wife, life with Dad took her all over the US and Okinawa, and Hawaii. In Hawaii, one of Mom's early and continuing passions was sewing, and we recall that she made her own costumes for Tahitian dancing and even Debbie's doll clothes. Later, after moving back to Lakewood in retirement, and as her children began to have their own families, she turned her passion to crocheting beautiful keepsakes of blankets and shawls for the family - a piece of her heart for the family that lives on today.
Roselie is survived by her four children, Ronald (Kayren) Walters, John (Jewell) Heller, Deborah (Kandy) Heller-Evans, and Betty (Stephen) Lamb; her grand children Susie (Matt) Mixon, David (Heidi) Walters, Kenneth (Erica) Heller, Jennifer (Raymond) Gates, Katherine Heller-Evans and Megan Heller-Evans; and many great-grandchildren.
Dad passed from this world on March 6, 2006, and we are heartened that they are now together again.
At her request, no public services will be held, and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Franciscan Hospice at Franciscan Hospice House
