Rosalind Nadean West's Obituary
Rosalind Nadean West was born on March 28, 1951 in Lafayette, Alabama to the late Louis J. & Charlene Smith. She is also preceded in death by her two sons, Adrian Lamar Walker, Sr. & Willie James Woods, Jr. Her brother, Warren T Smith, Sr., sister, Charmaine Smith. Nephews, Michael Smith and Eric Bell.
Rosalind entered eternal peace on Thursday, May 29, 2025. She is no longer suffering or in pain. Rosalind graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington and shortly after joined the United States Army and served her country for several years. After being Honorably Discharged she returned to Washington and became employed with US West Communications until she was needed in the family home to help care for her ailing parents along side her sister.
In the past several years Rosalind’s health began to decline. After spending the first 9 months of 2024 in the VA Hospital in Seattle it became apparent that she should no longer reside in her home alone. Doctors determined that she could receive the care that she needed in an Adult Family Home. Her family sought out several home and shared them with Rosalind and she approved of Grateful Hearts Care Homes, LLC, in Parkland Washington.
Rosalind loved her family, family gatherings and being around people. She loved food, especially desserts! She had a huge heart and would give you her last unless you talk to her siblings about their early years. We know that Rosalind believed in God and that she is resting in heavenly peace.
Rosalind is survived by her brothers Dr. James B. Smith (Thadeth), Paul A. Smith (Sharlene), Grandchildren; Adrian Lamar Walker, Jr., Devyne Walker, Shakira
Smith-Woods, Javion Woods, Aaliyah Woods, Ashanti Potts-Woods, Tejhan
Potts-Woods, (Promise), Simba Woods. Great Grandchildren; Amontae Okoro, Jakari Potts-Woods & Ni’air Walker. Rosalind is also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces & Nephews, relatives, close friends and acquaintances. Special & Dear to her heart; Jonell Green, Vera Williams, Yvonne McClurkin, Nancy & Aquene Wagner.
Rosalind will never be forgotten, we will always keep precious and fond memories of her close to our heart.
