Rosa B. Newton's Obituary
Rosa Newton was born November 6, 1935 and went home to be with the lord August 8, 2019. Psalm 91:16 With long life will I satisfy her, and show her my salvation. She was born in Jasper, Texas to the parents of Purvis Sr. and Ocie Hadnot who have proceeded in death before her. She is a widow of Ernest Lee Newton. Rosa attended Prairie View A&M University and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and was crowned Ms. Personality.
Throughout her life, Rosa was a very caring and giving person. In 1993 she moved to Lakewood, Washington and lived next door to her daughter with her dog, Lady. She was an active member of the Lion of Judah Evangelist Center; she was church mother, head intercessor, and an assistant to her daughter, Pastor Lisa Taylor. She worked for many years at Greater Lake Mental Health facility, issuing out clothes, food and household needs to the less fortunate, and also a cashier in the facility store. She fellow-shipped at Cascade Park Senior Center for over 15 years and was called Mrs. Hollywood, because of her excellence in dress attire and the light that shine so brightly through her and that contagious laugh through those doors she brought love, joy and a sense of hope to many senior citizens and staff.
Rosa loved to dance and play a mean game of Bid Wiz; she was very competitive and also loved to win. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She lead a life of endurance and great victories. Rosa lived life to the fullest. God made her a promise in her heart, her latter would be greater than her former and that he did. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Marquis Hayden, and siblings, Eddie Mae Fennell, Emerson Hadnot Sr., Lewis Hadnot and Rosetta Bendy. She leaves behind her siblings James Hadnot, Purvis Hadnot Jr., Ezra Hudson, Marvin Hadnot, and Archie Hadnot. Her children, Jeffery Newton, Lisa Taylor, and Ramona Henry. Her grandchildren Antione Hayden, Ronnie Hayden, Naomi Newton, Holly Newton, Jionna Rose Newton and 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
