Rosa Lapuz Daniels' Obituary
Rosa Lapuz Daniels passed away April 9th, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born August 30th,
1930 in Cabiao, in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Rosa was the second of nine
children of Clara Flores and Manuel Lapuz.
In her early life, Rosa married Theodore Daniels, who would become her husband of 65 years.
Following their marriage in 1958, Rosa immigrated to the United States with her young daughter
Lorna.
Rosa was known to those around her as a catalyst for success. She believed in those around
her and expected big things from them. Not only did she foster these beliefs in other people but
she actively provided the means for those she loved to accomplish great things. Rosa leveraged
her position in the United States to provide greater opportunities to her daughter and her
extended family in the Philippines, sending home money and resources that would allow
countless members of her family to finish school and become career professionals.
For Rosa, her family was her lifeline. Her daughter, mom, dad and siblings meant everything to
her and she always wanted them to have everything they needed. She raised her two
grandsons, and played an active role in her four great grandchildren’s lives. In her later years,
her greatest joy was having her entire extended family over to her house on S. Asotin St for a
meal of fried fish and cherries from her trees and share stories and laughter with one another.
Rosa is preceded in death by her daughter Lorna, her husband Theodore, and siblings Olympia
Lapus-Soriano, Leticia Lapuz-Macabante, Elino Flores Lapuz, Manuel Flores Lapuz, and
Esperanza Lapus Panela. She is survived by her siblings Marina Lapuz Domingo, Marcela
Lapus Natividad, and Lolita Lapuz Panela, grandchildren Victor jr, Kari, Vance, Laura and Kellie,
son in law Victor, niece Pamela and spouse Mark, great grandchildren Layla, Quinton, Marques,
Natalie and spouse Elijah, Mason, Astrid, CJ and Bella and caregivers Jona and Lorna.
Services for Rosa will be held on Saturday May 4th, 2024 at the Mountain View Funeral Home
Harden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW Lakewood WA 98499. Visitation will be held on
Friday from 9:00/AM to 4:00/PM. Family and friends kindly invited.
