Rosa Christine Murphy's Obituary
Rosa Christine Murphy passed away on Friday, April 15th peacefully after 91 years of truly living life to its fullest. Born on December 25th of 1913 in the Rhondda Valley in Wales, Rosa came to Washington in 1927 with her family and settled in McKenna where she attended Yelm High School. It was here that she met the love of her life, Kenneth and married on May 2nd, 1932. Known for her vibrance and cheerful gentle ways, Rosa became an Â"IconÂ" in Lakewood, first working for Lou JohnsonÂ's (Country Store) and later as a food demonstrator for Villa Thriftco (LarryÂ's Red Apple Market.) Recognized as the Â"Apple of LakewoodÂ's Eye,Â" Rosa loved to smile, and with her it was contagious. She blessed every family event with Welsh song and a genuine love of life. She will truly be missed by all. Rosa left this earth to join her husband Kenneth, grand daughter DiAnna, and beloved dog Heidi. Survivors include 3 daughters, Rosemarie Kowalski (Vic), Patricia McColm (Joe), and Tara Radford (Jerry.) 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, all will miss her dearly.Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2005 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
