Ronald "Ron" Gilven's Obituary
Ronald (Ron) Gilven, 74, of Tacoma, WA, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 29, 2024.
Ron, a Vietnam veteran, served in the United States Army before starting and ending his career at US West, Inc. He enjoyed playing competitive pool with friends and spending time with his brother, Edwin (especially watching football). He loved having family get together with his children and grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Hezekiah "Bill" Gilven and Juanita Gilven, his youngest brother, Curtis Gilven, and his nephew, Kyle Hopkins.
Ron is survived by his wife Chung-Hui Gilven, his daughters, Desiree Gilven and Sophia Gilven (Sean Mason, son-in-law), his grandchildren - Marissa Hardy-Gilven, Bobby Mason and Ronald Gilven Mason, his brother Edwin Gilven, his sister Phyllis Gilven Enzor, his aunt Helen Jordan (Georgia), nephew Damonte Tate, and a host of cousins.
We are proud to call him Daddy, Dan Dan, brother, a Veteran and a friend.
He fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept his faith.
"Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord will award to me on that Day." 2 Tim 4:8
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to celebrate Ron's life journey.
