Ron was born in Tacoma Washington on December 7, 1955 and passed away peacefully on June 17, 2016. He resided in Tacoma all of his life. Ron graduated from Foss High School in 1974 where he was part of the first graduating class. He played years of soccer for Norpoint Soccer Association and football both at Stadium and Foss High Schools. After graduating he went on to work as a Tacoma Longshoreman in Local 23 until his retirement.
Although Ron lived his life on his terms he made friends where ever he went and was a loyal friend to so many. He loved to be in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. Ron will be remembered for his kind heart and outgoing personality.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Robert Roller Sr., his step-father Virgil Weed and his son Shane Roller. He is survived by his mother Marion Weed, brother’s Bob Roller (Kathy), Roy Weed (Lisa), and sister Kim Zook as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank Tacoma General Hospital and the staff at Alaska Gardens Rehabilitation Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provide Ron. Thank you for all of the care and compassion you showed him and our family during his stay. There just are not enough words to express how thankful we are.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Leo’s Hospitality Kitchen at St. Leo’s Catholic Church.
A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church 4301 Browns Point Blvd., Tacoma on June 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
