Ronald Raymond Sobie
Devoted Husband, Father, Friend, Soldier! Ronald Raymond Sobie passed away March 10, 2009 in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 76. He was born June 10, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. Ron joined the United States Army in 1951. A veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars, Ron retired as a Master Sergeant from the Army in 1975. He continued as a civilian employee for the Morale Welfare & Recreation Dept. and managed the Ft. Lewis Bowling Center until his retirement in 1998. An avid sportsman, Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and boating. He was most involved in his children's activities and school. Ron is survived by his wife of 54 years, daughter, son and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and sister. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009, 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Parish, 25810 156th Ave. SE, Kent, WA, followed by burial service at Tahoma National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
