Roland L. Brabec's Obituary
Roland Lee Brabec, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2015 after battling multiple forms of cancer. Born July 7, 1926 to Alfred and Hazel Brabec in Lincoln, NE. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Phyllis, brother Gail & Marietta (Discovery Bay, CA), sister Bonnie Krogness (Puyallup, WA), three daughters Sharon & John Talbot (Spokane, WA), Nancy Brabec (Berea, OH), Patricia & Virgil Pfautch (Sacramento, CA) and two grandchildren Joshua and Ashley Talbot. He is preceded in death by his brother Alfred D. Brabec.
Roland, was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement in combat, as a TECH4 (Sergeant) assigned to the 25th Infantry Division/Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked for 25+ years for both Burlington Northern Railroad and Marshal Field Co. He enjoyed the last 25 years of traveling, visiting with family and spending the winter in Yuma, AZ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10 at 1:00pm in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499.
