Roberto Sierra-Arruffatt's Obituary
Roberto "Chico" Sierra-Arruffatt Born December 28, 1930, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at his Lakewood home surrounded by his family and friends. The oldest of 6 children of parents Ignacio (father) & Feleceta (mother), Roberto was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico. With 27 years of dedicated service in the Army, which included multiple tours in Vietnam and overseas assignments and 25 years working at the Officer's club as a chef on Ft. Lewis, Chico was loved by all who met him. He was beloved for his kindness, caring nature and his sense of humor as well as his ability to literally "cook for an army".
Chico is survived by his wife Elizabeth, grandson Jason T. (Gloria), daughter Hannelore T. (Freddie), brothers Hector and Angel "Pipa", sisters Ana and Carmen, grandson Brian T. (Eesa), great granddaughters, Madison and Grace, great-grandson, Carter, Elizabeth's son, Raemann, daughter, Melanie and grandson Korey as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His first wife Wilhelmina, his son Manfred and his brother Miguel preceded Chico in death.
Chico's life will be celebrated on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood at 1:00 in the Aspen Chapel's Celebration of Life building with burial and reception to follow. All friends and family are welcome. There will be a day of viewing on the Wednesday prior to the funeral starting at 1:00 - 9.00 pm.
