Roberta "Jane" Campbell's Obituary
Roberta “Jane” Campbell passed away June 15, 2021 in Loris South Carolina. She was born Oct 26, 1936 in Tacoma WA. She was the daughter of the late Ken “Utah” Alvero Campbell and Ann Elizabeth Campbell Scherer.
Jane was a mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was an entrepreneur that owned restaurants and second hand stores. She was respected and strove to do her best in any endeavor. She was proud of being a founding member and the first Secretary of the Pierce County Veterinary Nurses Association, the second chapter in the nation. Later she earned her LPN and was a psychiatric nurse at Western State Hospital until she was injured on the job. Jane was an avid animal lover and sportswoman. Starting as a guide on Mount Rainier when she was 17 and was always the first to get her deer or catch the largest Trout. She loved to sing and was an accomplished guitar player and in her later years sang in the Yelm City Choir where she has lived for over 40 years.
She is survived by her son Mark Kantonen and his wife Ulla Kantonen, her daughters Kelley McGregor and spouse Malcolm McGregor, Lisa Wilcox and Brenda Prince and spouse Harvey Prince and her sister Kathleen E Herbst and her spouse Fritz Herbst. She had six grand daughters and three grandsons, two great grandsons, one great grand daughter and a great great grand daughter. Her son Ken “Jess” Campbell, her sister Alvera Boyajian and her grandsons Christopher Reeves and Bobby Campbell predeceased her.
Her memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Sunday October 17, 2021 at 12pm in the Garden Chapel. Remembrances may be shared at www.mountainviewtacoma.com
