Robert "Rob" G Wekell's Obituary
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert "Rob" G. Wekell, a cherished member of the Pierce County community. Born on September 23rd, 1943, in Tacoma, WA, Rob dedicated his life to serving others with kindness, generosity, and humility through his many endeavors in the area.
Rob was incredibly proud of his military service, having served in the Army Special Forces, earning his rank as a Green Beret. After his service, his journey led him to his work with the North Star Glove Company as President of the company, where his leadership reflected his deep-seated values of giving back and uplifting others. Rob was known for his passionate commitment to community service, always striving to make a positive impact on those around him. His dedication extended beyond his professional life, as he supported causes close to his heart, particularly the Daffodil Festival Foundation, where he was a long time Daffodilian, serving two terms as Festival President.
Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Wekell, who shared in his commitment to service and community. Together, they embodied the spirit of generosity and humility, touching countless lives along the way through their work with the Daffodil Festival. He is also survived by his two daughters, Matiele Law and Kelsey Sweeney, as well as his grandchildren and other beloved friends and family.
As we remember Rob, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire us all. His unwavering dedication to others serves as a reminder of the profound impact one person can have on a community.
