Robert W. Stewart's Obituary
Robert (Stew) Stewart passed away January 10, 2023 at the age of 69. Bob was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 23, 1953.
He joined the Army in 1970 and was stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington where he met and married his wife of Jeanne Crest Stewart. He then served 2 years in Germany and 2 more years at Ft. Benning, Georgia. After an honorable discharge in 1976 he returned to Washington and started working at Pacific National Auto Parts and moved up to shop foreman and eventually co-owner. He also ran his own business Stu’s Auto for many years. He moved on in 2008 to work for DOL on Ft. Lewis.
Bob came down with end stage renal failure in 2012 and after starting dialysis he moved onto work for the Dept of Defense as a fuel distribution specialist working full time and also dealing with kidney dialysis.
Bob never complained about his illness and the multiple surgeries and pain he endured and worked hard every day.
He was loved by many and will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of life and love of NASCAR.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Jeanne, his son Robert Jr., his daughter Megan and his one and only grandchild who he adored Stephen Cooper Jr.
