Robert A Pollock's Obituary
Robert Armstrong Pollock, son of the late William Roland Pollock Jr. and Marion (nee Armstrong) Pollock, born November 15, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away at age 82 on September 5, 2013 in Steilacoom, WA. Proceeded in death by wife of 41 years, Wilma (nee Kluger) Pollock and Brother William Roland Pollock III. Survived by sister Mary Pollock Boughton (Mike), Santa Monica, CA, step-daughter Nancy Foreman Kaufman (Ira), Mequon, WI, step-son Terry Foreman (Linda), Pearl, MS, grandson Andrew Kaufman, Vancouver BC, daughter Cindy Pollock (David) Deere and Cathy Pollock; (Jeff) Davis, granddaughter Jessie and Ginny Deere and nieces Vicky Pollock Smith and (Eric) and Julie Pollock Amundson (Jim).
Bob retired from the linen business, and was active in the Gig Harbor community, where he co-owned the Wooden Spoon and a nautical giftware shop during the 1970’s He served for many years as Grand Marshall of Gig Harbor Days Parade. In recent years, he was devoted to helping care for Wilma at the Lakewood Health Center, and after her death in 2012 he continued as a volunteer there. Prior to moving to Washington, he had a career with American Linen Supply in Milwaukee. He graduated from Milwaukee University School and attended Utah State University. He served during the Korean War in the Marshall Island, and witnessed hydrogen bomb test on Enewetak Atoll.
He is a former member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Lakewood, WA. The family thanks dear friends Lowell (Joan) Anderson and Jan (Rev. Randy) Olson for their friendship and help with Bob when we were many miles away, and the staff of the Lakewood Health Center for giving him friendship and purpose.
Graveside services will take place at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 21 at Mountain View Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
