Robert Odis Paige's Obituary
Mr. Robert Odis Paige was born on January 6, 1945 to Willie James Paige and Bessie Lee Paige in Uniontown, Alabama. During his formative years he was reared by his mother and stepfather, James Ward. He departed this life on November 11, 2010 in Seattle, Washington. Robert was the second oldest of three sons, James Edwards (deceased) and Charles Lee.
His early childhood years were spent in Uniontown, Alabama where he attended Perry County Training School and R.C. Hatch High School. After graduating from high school he moved to Monticello, New York to work as a baker's apprentice during the summer. He briefly attended Stillman College before being drafted in the United States Army. He served 25 years in the Army and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1992. After retiring from the Army, he earned an associate degree from Pierce College and worked at Madigan Army Medical Center in the Surgery Department, Emergency Department, Family Medicine, and the Department of Medicine (Neurology). He retired from Madigan on December 31, 2009. He enjoyed raising Koi fish, fishing, and landscaping his yard.
His church affiliations included St. Peters Primitive Baptist Church in Uniontown, Alabama and St. John's Baptist Church Transformational Ministries in Tacoma, Washington.
He is survived by his devoted wife Rosa of 44 years, his three children: Debra D. Brown (George) of Mitchellville, MD, Patrick D. Paige (Michelle) of Monroe, Washington, and Maurice Paige (Inga) of Lynnwood, Washington. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one brother, Charles L. Paige of Houston, Texas, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
