Robert O. McCarthy's Obituary
Robert Owen McCarthy, 67, died tragically Sunday, July 4, 2004 in an unexpected accident at Lawrence Lake. He was born in St. Paul, MN on June 8, 1937. He was employed for the Tacoma School District #10 as a School Patrol Officer, for the past 22 years. Bob had a great sense of humor and had the ability to make people laugh. The greatest love of his life was his wife Phyllis, his family, and his grandchildren. He lived his life to the fullest, creating many memories for all those who loved and knew him. There was never a dull moment when Dad was around. The light of DadÂ's life was spending time with his grandchildren, Spencer, Kassidy, Blake, Quaid and Nikki.Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of 45 years; son Michael (Toni); daughters Sandi (Scott) Sproul, Wendy (Frank) Landeis, Kim (Scott) Cantu; mother Genevieve Hoffman; sisters, Betty (Ken) Johnson, Pat (Ken) Hoerling, brother John McCarthy, Mary Ehrler, Rose (Eldon) Sapp, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sister Dolly (Dick) Webster, and his father Frank McCarthy. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 11:00 AM.
