Robert Oliver Norris' Obituary
Robert Oliver Norris, 87, of Puyallup passed away peacefully November 10, 2013. Born October 11, 1926 in Pacific Beach, WA, Robert was a retired sheet metal worker and WWII Navy veteran. Robert is survived by his wife over 63 years, JoAnn Norris.
He is also survived by his brother Alfred of Puyallup, sisters Della Allen of Tacoma, WA, Betty Lemon of WV, Shirley Steele of CA, his son Randy Norris (Kris) of Port Hadlock, two daughters Cindy Howard (John) of Lakewood , and Shannon Lake (John) of Tacoma, Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Barbara Earsley.
Robert attended Clover Creek Elementary and graduated from Puyallup High School. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Pensacola. After his discharge, he drove the country in his 1948 Chevrolet convertible and met the love of his life, JoAnn in Des Moines IA. After a 3 month courtship they married and begin a 63 year journey together. He spent most of his life in the Puyallup area. Robert was hardworking man who loved traveling, exploring the northwest outdoors and spending quality time with his family relaxing at his cottage home in Colony Surf.
A celebration of life service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Aspen Chapel in Lakewood, Saturday November 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to University of Washington Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
