Robert Nelson's Obituary
Forever In Our Hearts - Loving husband, father, grandfather & great grand-father. Bob passed away among his family Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Born in Racine, Wisconsin he was a mechanic by trade & also ran a roller skating business. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a Gunner's Mate 3rd Class aboard the USS Demeter. In 1954 he followed his parents to Tacoma, WA. Bob met Yolanda and they married May 21st, 1966. Bob worked at various dealerships, eventually retiring from South Tacoma Chevrolet. Bob & Yolanda moved to Anderson Island, WA where he became very active in various community organizations, giving a lot of his time & expertise to the Historical Society projects. He loved hunting, fishing & working in his garden but what brought him the most joy was playing Santa on & off the Island. He is preceded in death by son Billy. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Yolanda, children, Robert Jr., Larry, Joann, Terry, France, Andy, Ronnie and Wayne and numerous grandchildren. Our hearts are full of joy and sadness. Our joy comes from remembering your tender blue eyes, your enduring smile, your loving kisses when we entered or departed from one another, and the joy of sitting on Santa's lap. At the same time these memories are the reason for our sadness. Even though we grieve of your passing, it's our joy, honor, and privilege to promise you that we'll take your loving legacy to the next generation. You will always be remembered and loved. We love you, sweety. Viewing will be Tuesday Sept., 14th 10AM - 9PM Funeral services will be Wed, Sept., 15th, 12PM - 3PM in the Celebration of Life Bldg. Remembrances may be made to: MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospice.
