Robert Morgan Moore,'s Obituary
Robert Morgan Moore "Lawnmower Bob" Passed away January 23, 2008 after his battle with cancer. Bob was born March 16, 1942 in Seattle, Washington to Robert M. Moore, Sr. and Jean E. Moore. He lived in the North End of Tacoma from the age of 2, and attended Sherman, Mason, and Stadium before graduating from Wilson High School in 1960. Bob graduated from the University of Washington in 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1965 - 1967. Bob had a career in banking where he met the love of his life, Mary Kay. They were married February 1, 1969. After several years in banking, he found his avocation by starting Bob's Lawn Service. He took pride in his work and great care of his customers as well as their lawns. He retired after 20 years in business. Owning his own business allowed him the opportunity to pursue his passion for 1967 Chevy trucks. Some of his happiest days were spent "junkin", attending auto swap meets, and working on his trucks. He enjoyed starting his day with coffee at the Westgate McDonald's and meeting friends for lunch at Round Table Pizza. He and Mary Kay loved vacationing in Maui. He was a devoted father to Jeff and Paul. He loved the role of Papa to his grandchildren Zach and Morgan. He is survived by his wife Mary Kay, sons Jeff (Tina)Eand Paul, grandchildren Zach and Morgan, his brother Brad (Jane), and nephews Sam and Ry of Martinez, California, cousin Judy Braselton of Corpus Christi, Texas, sisters-in-law Patty (Dave) Wilson and Peggy (Randy) Burnside, numerous nieces and nephews, and his many Chevy trucks. His life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 4P.M. in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, (253) 428-8483.
