Robert Jay Miller's Obituary
SSG Robert Jay Miller, retired, 84, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2014 in University Place, WA. He was born on August 21, 1929 in Tiffin, Ohio to Darl Jay and Pauline (Chester) Miller.
Robert served our country in the U.S. Army and while stationed in Germany he met and fell in love with Edith I. Ortlepp. They were married on July 22, 1958. After his military career, he went on to work as a Food Service Manager for the State of Alaska Correctional Facilities in Anchorage. Following his second retirement from the State of Alaska, he and Edith traveled all over the U.S. in their Class C motorhome enjoying the sites, people and each other.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Edith and daughters Virginia, Debbie and son Bobby.

If tears could build a stairway, memories a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.
Family memorial services will be held at his favorite fishing spot in Alaska.
