Robert Leonard Medlock's Obituary
Capt. Robert Leonard Medlock Passed away at home February 20, 2018.
Leonard was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon to Frendy D. Sr. and Ida (Corbin) Medlock, August 6, 1923. In 1940, he moved to Tacoma and later served as a pilot in Army Air Corps WWII in the European, North African, and China Burma India Theaters of War (1942-1946).
He then graduated from the College of Puget Sound (UPS)member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was employed by George Scofield Co., St. Regis Paper Co., and Champion Int'l. in Corporate Credit.
An active Republican, he served as Pierce County Republican party treasurer, President of Wholesale Credit Association, and had active memberships in Edward B. Rhodes Post American Legion, VFW, Forty et Eight, Past Commander of Military Order of World Wars Puget Sound Chapter, Kiwanis, and Elks #174.
Leonard was an avid hunter, fisherman, and skier. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma. His greatest pleasure came from helping military veterans.
Survivors: His wife of 72 years Charlotte Anne (Polly Plummer) Medlock; daughter, Janice Anne Spiger (Dr. M.J.); sons, Robert D. (Rena), Gary S. (Nancy) of Colorado, Ronald W. (Kimberlee deceased), Brian S. (Bonnie), Murray T. (Penny), 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by brother Frendy Dee Medlock Jr. POW WWII 1942, Philippine Islands.
Memorial Service: First Presbyterian Church, Tacoma, Sunday, March 4, 2:00 PM.
