Robert Nelson McCormick's Obituary
Robert Nelson McCormick, 95, died peacefully on December 11, 2015. He grew up on Fox Island and graduated from Lincoln High School. During WWII, he served in the Army landing on the Normandy beaches on D-Day and was promoted to Master Sgt MP. After the war, he worked as a union carpenter for 65 years. He was married to the late Marjorie Pense following the death of his first wife, Dorothy Grisell.
He is survived by his children Carol, Robert, Marcia (Kevin Neal), and Richard, niece Marlene Simpson, nephew David Potter, and grandson Joshua Williams. Many thanks to his caregivers Jinny and Elverra, and Dr. Kristen Briejer.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Chapel in Parkland on Friday, December 18 at 2pm. Donations in his memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 12115 Park Ave S., Tacoma, WA, 98444.
