Robert Lund's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Frank Lund Age 78, passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2012, surrounded by his family. He will be missed and fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He graduated from Stadium HS in 1951, where he met the love of his life, Pat. They have 4 children, Kathy Vandenberg (Drew) Linda Baltzell (Bill), Lori Lund (Sue), and Jim Lund (Lisa), 4 grandchildren Maarta 23, Conner 11, Grayson 8, and Honora 7. His older brother Dick (Millie) will miss him, along with nieces and nephews Diana (Steve), Nancy (Dick), Paul (Becky), Karen (Steve), Betsy (Todd), Kari (Tom), Kim (Darren), and Mike, great-nieces/nephews, and many cousins. Bob's passion for his family was evident by the yearly vacations together. He was the "Godfather" of our family. He was a very generous man who always took care of his family and was looking forward to celebrating 59 years of marriage. Bob was the proud owner of Master Built Homes, which he started in 1955, building custom homes, cabinets, and commercial buildings. His tenure in the Home Builders Association included being President for a year, along with the Extra Achievement Awards of the "Spike Club" (bringing in 50 or more members) and President of the Home Owners Warranty Program. He, along with his wife, also owned and operated Flagwood Gift Shop on Hood Canal, Connoisseur Gift Shop in Tacoma, and the Weathervane Gift Shop in the Tacoma Mall and University Place. Those who knew Bob knew his passion for cars; he was always driving the latest and greatest, including a convertible. He enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends, as he always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the best it had to offer. We were honored to have him as our husband/dad and we have wonderful memories of his life. We invite you to come share the celebration of his life at the Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 (253-584-0252) in the Garden Chapel, March 17th, 2012 at 2PM.
