CSM, retired, Robert H. Loving was born on February 14, 1932 in Scottsville, VA. He passed away quietly on April 18, 2014.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Margarete, daughter Rosemarie Buford (Robert), 2 grandchildren, Robert Washington (Mary) and DeeDee Washington, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He served his country faithfully for 25 years, earning several prestigious military medals. He spent his retired life doing what he loved most which is gardening and tending to his roses.
No services will be held per family's request.

In Loving Memory Of Robert Henry Loving Robert Henry Loving, 82, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014. He was born February 14, 1932, in North Garden, Virginia, to the late Bellfield and Rebecca Irving Loving. Also predeceasing him are a brother, Charles Edward Bruce; and a sister, Rebecca Bernice Loving Fields. Robert attended the little North Garden Elementary School and later graduated with the last Senior Class of seven students from the Esmont High School at Esmont, Virginia, in May, 1951. Robert worked until he was drafted into the Army in August, 1952. He was stationed at numerous posts throughout the United States. Some of his overseas tours included Korea, two tours in Vietnam and Germany. While on tour in Germany, he met and married his wife of 56 years, Margarete E. Koch Loving. Robert is survived by his wife, Margarete Loving; one daughter, Rosemarie Buford and her husband Robert; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; a brother, Thomas S. Loving and wife, Mae, of Clarksville, Tennessee; two sisters, Dorothy Burton of Charlottesville, Virginia, and the Reverend Delores L. Scott and her husband, Daniel, of North Garden, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
