Robert Louis Haun's Obituary
Robert Louis Haun passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2009 at his home in Dupont, WA. He was born October 21, 1925 to Frederick J. and Clara E. Haun in Kenosha, WI. Bob had a distinguished career as a military officer, beginning with the Army Air Corps, and retiring from the USAF as Lt. Col in 1968. His love of flying, especially the P-51 was a tremendous source of pride for him. He was also a lifetime member of the Tacoma Power Squadron, and in 2009 became the first recipient of the new "Haun" award for his many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John William Haun, William John Haun, sister Margaret E. Myer and daughter Christine A. Fomin. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary J. Haun, two daughters and their spouses, Diane and David Dahl and Joyce and James Kelley. He also has two surviving sisters, Barbara Bell and Patricia Haun. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was granted so many extra years with his family due to God's grace, talented doctors, and the support and encouragement from his family and many friends. Services were held Dec 30th at St. John Bosco Church. He was interred at Mountain View Memorial Park with military honors. In lieu of cards or flowers the family would prefer donations to St. John Bosco Church in Lakewood, WA or Franciscan Hospice of Tacoma, WA.
