Robert Joseph Odle's Obituary
Robert J. Odle Sr. Robert J. Odle Sr. AKA Sweetie Pie passed from his journey here on earth, February 17, 2008. He was born May 3, 1925 in Tacoma, Wa. Bob went to Lincoln High School and then joined the Navy. He served in WWII and upon his discharge he joined the Naval Reserves. He married Drucilla while in the Navy. Bob spent the better part of his career working for Sears and Allstate Insurance until he retired in December 1982. He was a member of Toastmasters and served his Community as a member of Kiwanis. He was also the Predisdent of the PTA in the Clover Park School District. His hobbies were collecting Agates on the beaches in Oregon and doing Leather Work. From these hobbies he created several gifts that he shared with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Susan and his grandson Andrew. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years Drucilla, 6 children, Kathy Viereck (Mike), Mark Odle (Marilyn), Charley Odle (Gwen), Debbie Sherwood (Doug), Veronica Delagrange (Paul), Robbie Odle, (Sri), 21 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Bobs sole purpose was to give his family the best life he could, He was very sucessful in this endeavor. Sweetie Pie will be remembered for his sweet nature, his infectious smile, his upbeat personality and his sense of humor. He truly knew the art of growing old gracfully and was a true inspiration to all those who spent time with him. There will be a Memorial to celebrate his life at Silver Creek Retired and Assisted Living Community, 17607 91st Ave. E, Puyallup, Wa. 98375 March 1, 2008 at 3:00pm in the Hospitality Room. In lieu of flowers Donations can be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association P.O.Box 11454 Alexandria, Virginia 22312.
