Robert "Bob" Johnson's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Johnson, 95 of Maple Valley, Washington, died August 21,2024.
He was born in Glasgow, Montana on February 2,1929, the son of Carl and Delia Johnson. He had a younger brother, William Gail Johnson.
He attended college at the University of Idaho where he met his wife, Patricia Posnick. He graduated with a degree in accounting in 1953. They married the same year and he and Pat moved to San Diego, California where he began his Navy career. Bob served from 1953-1956 as a Jag Officer on the USS Kearsarge. He was awarded the China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Defense Medal, and the National Defense Medal.
He completed his studies at the University of Washington where he received his law degree.
He practiced law in Snoqualmie, Washington with attorneys Chambers, Holt and Rank. He also served as a judge for the city of Snoqualmie during that time. He left his private practice and began working as a prosecutor for the city of Seattle where he retired after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, his two daughters, Bonnie Ward (Doug) of Snohomish, Washington, Bobbie Bugbee (Guy) of Gig Harbor, Washington and his nieces, Kelly Rosecrans (Hal), Kathy Johnson, Kollette Johnson (Scott) and nephews Karl Johnson (Pat) and Kevin Johnson.
He will be remembered for his quiet, kind, gentle and sweet nature. He had a good sense of humor, he was honest, thoughtful, and respectful of others. He took extraordinary pride in his job and family, whom he loved deeply. He was an avid reader and loved woodworking, gardening, and traveling with Pat in their motorhome to Arizona every year where they spent their winters.
Predeceased by his parents Carl and Delia Johnson, his brother William Gail Johnson (Helen), and his niece Kaycee Hoffbauer.
He will be deeply missed by his family who loved him dearly.
Bob enjoyed the Navy, and the years that he served on the USS Kearsarge. He was proud of his service and was always seen in his Navy cap. In tribute, a military service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington where he will be buried with Honors.
