Robert William Ehrler (1940 - 2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert William Ehrler, a long-time resident of Puyallup and Tacoma. Born on October 14, 1940, Robert, fondly known as Bob, departed from us on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the age of 83.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, his three stepchildren, and six grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister, two nieces, two nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bob’s early education took place in Midland Elementary School and Stewart Middle School. His commitment to service was evident in his 30-year tenure with the Navy, with 20 years of active service and 10 years in the Reserves. Following his military service, Bob embarked on a new journey as an owner-operator truck driver for over 20 years.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Bob was a dedicated fan of the Huskies, Seahawks, and Mariners. His love for sports was infectious and brought joy to those around him.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Bob’s life. Visitation will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 10am to 4pm. A second visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10am to 1:30pm, followed by a graveside funeral service.
Bob’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, love for sports, and dedication to his family will continue to inspire us all. May he rest in peace.
